Would love to set something like this up in Perth!

The illawarra Mercury reported a feel good story about a "Midwifery Group Practice" that is doing well.

The Midwifery Group Practice, where the same midwives work with expectant mums before, during and after birth, is made up of nine midwives whose intake is supposed to be capped at 40 clients at a time.

The program is booked out for births until March 2010.

It is so good to read positive stories about homebirth and respecting women's choices about where and how women want to birth.

I would love to set up this sort of practice in WA and have it funded by the government and with the new legislation looming it is doubtful that we would get indemnity insurance to protect both the midwife and the woman.

Any ideas of how to make it work?
